The Team
Director
Carmen Penery is the co‑founder of CPLT Compass Capital, where she is passionate about building long‑term trusted relationships and guiding clients through their lending journey with clarity, care and tailored financial solutions across both commercial and residential needs.
With more than 25 years of domestic and international banking experience across Corporate, Institutional and Commercial sectors, Carmen combines deep expertise with a warm, personal approach to help clients confidently navigate their finance options.
Before co‑founding CPLT, Carmen held senior roles at Westpac, HSBC and other major financial institutions. She is known for her strategic insight, strong negotiation capability and commitment to delivering exceptional client outcomes.
Carmen also serves as a Board Member and Board Secretary for Mettle Women Inc., providing governance, financial oversight and strategic guidance to support women experiencing homelessness due to domestic and family violence.
Her qualifications include a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance, a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Certificate IV and Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking, Executive Leadership Certificates and graduation from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Director
Lisa is the co‑founder of CPLT Compass Capital and a highly experienced finance professional with more than 25 years in Corporate and Institutional Banking. Her career includes 18 years at HSBC, along with earlier roles at CBA and NAB, giving her a deep understanding of commercial lending, facility structuring, relationship management and Bank pricing methodology across a wide range of industries.
Having worked in Melbourne, Sydney and in her hometown Perth, Lisa brings a collaborative, solutions‑focused approach and a genuine ability to simplify complex financial decisions. She is committed to helping business owners, investors and families achieve the best possible outcomes with clarity and confidence.
Outside of work, Lisa loves being part of her local community. She has served on her children’s primary school board, coached junior netball and been an active member of the Parents & Friends association. In her spare time, she enjoys staying active through Pilates and gym sessions, and she’s happiest on the sidelines watching her children play sport.
Her qualifications include Bachelor of Business, Double Major in Finance and Marketing, Certificate IV and Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking, completion of various women in leadership programs (WIBF,Catalyst).
